Act with integrity, honesty and transparency

NDIS Quality Support for Children (guidance). Edition held: Quality support for children in the NDIS, DA0855, August 2024 (guidance, not a rule); checked current on 1 October 2026 (our build record of the held copy; the October 2024 copy carries the same text).

Working with children checks: Working with children checks are state and territory law, which this list does not cover. Whether a worker needs one, and the exemptions, are set by each state: Queensland, for example, exempts registered health practitioners acting in their professional capacity in specified circumstances. See the state laws page. NDIS worker screening is a separate clearance under the NDIS rules.

P-7Explain in the service agreement what will be provided, when and where, and the skills of the staff; follow through on agreed actions and keep families informed; give families copies of all written reports; give cost, consent and risk information in an easy-to-understand way; say when a support should not be provided (for example lack of qualification or a conflict of interest) and discuss honestly when the NDIS is unlikely to fund something; market services accurately. Providers never give inaccurate information about their qualifications, and do not exaggerate results, pressure families (for example with fear of missing a place or of the child not catching up) or charge NDIS participants more without a valid reason.
