A practitioner may nominate an alternative name to the Board (the Board may refuse to record an obscene, impracticable, title-like or contrary to public interest name, s 131A). In providing or advertising a health service the practitioner uses only the name on the National or Specialists Register, the notified alternative name recorded there, or a business name. A breach is not an offence but grounds for action. In force since 1 July 2024 under the 2022 amendments.
- Register extract showing the registered and any alternative name
- Website, social media and booking platform profiles using only those names or the business name
- Practitioner practises under a social media handle or nickname not notified to the Board
- Alternative name used before the Board recorded it
