Module 3 8.1Evidence-informed practice: strategies based on principles, research and lawsource
Requirement, our statement of the clause

Intervention strategies rest on explicit principles, validated practices, the best available research, and relevant laws and regulations, and the provider can say which principles and evidence each strategy relies on.

Evidence that typically shows this
  • Practice framework citing the early childhood intervention principles and research relied on
  • Intervention plans naming the validated practice used
  • Procedure for reviewing new interventions before adoption
Common gap to check
  • Interventions used with no stated evidence base
  • Practice framework out of date
Module 3 8.2Evidence-informed practice: right expertise in place for the support networksource
Requirement, our statement of the clause

The provider has the information, knowledge, skills and expertise needed to deliver quality supports to each participant's support network, with workers matched to the supports they deliver.

Evidence that typically shows this
  • Qualification and professional registration records for early childhood practitioners
  • Skills matrix matched to the supports offered
  • Supervision records for practitioners
Common gap to check
  • Workers delivering supports outside their qualification or registration
  • No skills matrix against the supports delivered
Module 3 8.3Evidence-informed practice: skills maintained through development and reflectionsource
Requirement, our statement of the clause

The provider's workers keep their knowledge and skills current through continuing relevant professional development, ongoing self-reflection and self-assessment, and monitoring of their practice, so the quality of early childhood supports does not drift.

Evidence that typically shows this
  • Continuing professional development logs for each practitioner
  • Reflective practice or supervision notes
  • Practice observation or audit records
Common gap to check
  • Professional development unrelated to early childhood practice
  • No reflective supervision recorded
