s 11Authorised use without a plan: facilitate interim and comprehensive planssource
Requirement, our statement of the clause

Where a provider uses an authorised regulated restrictive practice that is not covered by a behaviour support plan and the use will or is likely to continue, it must take all reasonable steps to facilitate an interim behaviour support plan by a specialist behaviour support provider covering the practice within 1 month after the first use, and a comprehensive behaviour support plan within 6 months, and demonstrate this if required.

Evidence that typically shows this
  • Referral to a specialist behaviour support provider dated soon after first use
  • Interim plan dated within 1 month and comprehensive plan within 6 months of first use
  • Record of follow-up where the practitioner was delayed
Common gap to check
  • No referral made because the practice was authorised
  • Interim plan never obtained
