Registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Not psychologists (the Psychology Board has its own code from 1 December 2025) and not speech pathologists (not registered under the National Law).
A review of the shared code is under way; the June 2022 code stays in effect until a revised one is published.
When closing or moving a practice, retiring or moving between practices, the practitioner (a) gives notice as early as possible, and (b) arranges continuing care for all current patients, including transfer or proper handling of every record under the privacy and health records law of the jurisdiction.
- Patient notification letters or notices issued ahead of closure with dates
- Records custody or transfer arrangement naming who holds the records and how patients obtain them
- List of current patients with the continuing-care arrangement for each
- Records left with no custodian after closure
- Patients learn of the closure on arrival
