Registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Not psychologists (the Psychology Board has its own code from 1 December 2025) and not speech pathologists (not registered under the National Law).
A review of the shared code is under way; the June 2022 code stays in effect until a revised one is published.
Good practice means the practitioner (a) assesses colleagues and students honestly, objectively, constructively and in a culturally safe way, not putting patients at risk through inaccurate or inadequate assessment; and (b) gives accurate, justifiable information promptly and includes everything relevant in references and reports written about colleagues.
- Completed assessment forms or supervision reports with evidence for ratings
- Copies of references given, with the facts they relied on
- Satisfactory ratings given despite recorded performance concerns
- References omitting known conditions or concerns
