Ahpra and the National Boards

Registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Not psychologists (the Psychology Board has its own code from 1 December 2025) and not speech pathologists (not registered under the National Law).
A review of the shared code is under way; the June 2022 code stays in effect until a revised one is published.
In teaching and supervising roles, good practice means the practitioner: (a) builds the skills, attitudes and habits of an effective and culturally safe teacher or supervisor; (b) as supervisor, recognises that supervisory responsibility cannot be transferred; (c) makes sure anyone completing supervised practice gets effective oversight and feedback; and (d) avoids conflicts of interest in teaching or supervision that may impair objectivity or harm the learner's outcomes or experience, for example by not supervising someone with whom they have a prior non-professional relationship.
