Ahpra and the National Boards

Registered occupational therapists and physiotherapists. Not psychologists (the Psychology Board has its own code from 1 December 2025) and not speech pathologists (not registered under the National Law).
A review of the shared code is under way; the June 2022 code stays in effect until a revised one is published.
When research involves their patients, the practitioner (a) respects patients' right to leave a study with no effect on their treatment, and (b) makes sure a patient's decision not to take part does not affect the relationship or the patient's care.
- Participant information statement stating that declining or withdrawing does not affect care
- Care records of patients who declined or withdrew showing unchanged care
- Patients told, or led to believe, that care depends on participating
