Assessing other practitioners helps secure the highest standard of conduct. Effective practice means the psychologist: (a) assesses other practitioners' performance honestly, objectively and constructively, in a culturally safe and reflective way, provisional psychologists and registrars included, and does not put clients at risk through an inaccurate or inadequate assessment; and (b) gives accurate, justifiable information promptly and includes everything relevant when writing references or reports about other practitioners.
- Competency assessment records for provisional psychologists and registrars with evidence for each rating
- Copies of references and supervisor reports with dates sent
- Satisfactory rating given despite documented concerns
- Reference omitting known performance issues
